Northern Voice is a two-day conference for bloggers and people interested in becoming bloggers or learning more about it. The focus of the conference is on the social and cultural aspects of blogging.

In November 2005, Raincoast Books published We Are Iran by Nasrin Alavi. We Are Iran focusses on the social and cultural aspect of blogging in Iran. It is a multi-voiced portrait of Iran, using the nation’s weblogs as its primary source material.
